You may think you know the rules,
but is your business at risk?
You may feel...
What will you learn during the webinar?
(hint: it will be relevant, practical, current and in language you understand.)
1.
Changes to Casual Employment
From 26th August 2024 there will be a new definition of what a casual employee is (and isn't) and the onus is now on employers to get the engagement right from the outset to avoid hefty penalties. Plus there are changes to the casual conversion pathway. If you employ casuals in your business, this is information you need to know!
2.
Employee v's Contractors Defined
The Fair Work Act is (FINALLY) getting a definition of an employee, and employer. BUT this will change what constitutes a true contractor, and if you get it wrong in the beginning, Fair Work will not look on this favourably. Plus - even contractors now have protections under the Act. If you engage contactors in your business, this is a must attend webinar.
3.
The Right to Disconnect Clause
Every Modern Award is getting a new clause added in August known as the Right to Disconnect. It will dictate every employees right not to respond to work communication outside of hours. Awards will vary, and Award Free employees have access to this new workplace right. Every employer needs to know their rights and obligations.

Small Business Advocate, HR Expert, Mother & Runner
Having run my own small business for 17 years, I know the unique challenges that come with juggling all the things.
I have been helping businesses to find amazing people, build awesome teams and navigate people problems for more than 20 years.
What I know to be true for small to medium sized businesses is that you can't have a successful business and also any sense of freedom from that business - without the right team, and that's where I can help.
I happen to also be a bit of a 'nerd' so interpreting complex HR legislation for you is something I love to to.
